Here is some basic information about me:

I am a visiting associate professor in the mathematics department at Colorado State University. My electronic mail address is driessel@math.colostate.edu . I live in Wyoming. My postal mailing address is: 1703 Palmer Drive, Laramie, WY82070-4766 .

My schedule is variable. I usually work at home.

I moved to Laramie, Wyoming in the summer of 2000. I am an adjunct scholar associated with the mathematics department at Colorado State University. I was an adjunct professor at the University of Wyoming during the 2000-2001 academic year. I was a visiting scholar at Iowa State University from 1993 to 2000.

You can look at my picture. (Jeanette Reisenberg took this picture in 2000.)

Here is a summary of my higher education:

Seminars:

I have offered several advanced mathematical courses/seminars since 1993. You can look at more information about these seminars.

Here is a summary of my current research:

I am currently interested in numerical linear algebra for structured matrices. Specifically, I am trying to find a fast way to compute the singular values of Toeplitz matrices. I hope that the study of the differential geometry related to Lie group representations will lead to a solution of this problem.

I am also interested in science as it relates to cross-country skiing.

You can electronically access some of my reports and recent talks. Most of them concern linear algebra but some of them concern cross-country skiing.

Here is a summary of some of my other interests:

I cross-country ski in the winter. I bicycle ride in the summer.

Here are some other mathematical links that I find useful.
